Obituary for Arthur Fontes
Of Waltham, passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon September 7th, 2019 with his loving family by his side in his home at the age of 94.
Born on December 6, 1924 in Fall River; son of the late Manuel C. Fontes and Augusta (Cunha) Fontes, Arthur was raised in Fall River and had been a longtime Waltham resident.
Arthur was a proud Veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II. He retired from G.T.E. Labs after many years.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years Patricia "Patsy" (Coffey) Fontes; his devoted & loving children; Patty Page and her husband Marc; Alicia Matos and her husband Paul; Dianna Fontes; Steve Fontes and his wife Paula; and the late Arthur Fontes Jr. and his wife Donna.
Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Arthur’s Life at Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 920 Trapelo Road, Waltham on Friday September 20th at 10:00 a.m. A private burial will be held for his family at the Massachusetts Veterans National Cemetery in Bourne with United States Navy Military Honors.
