Doris Marie "Dolly" (LaPorte) Cianci

Of Waltham, passed away peacefully late Tuesday evening January 5th, 2021 at the Sawtelle Family Hospice Home in Reading after a long illness at the age of 87.

Born on May 20, 1933 in Cambridge; daughter of the late Alfred LaPorte and Obeline (Crapeau) LaPorte; Doris was born, raised and educated in Cambridge before moving to Lexington for a period of time and has been a resident of Waltham for the past 58 years.

A graduate of Cambridge Rindge & Latin High School; Dolly had been employed as a Manager in Accounts Payable with Data Guide Business Forms in Waltham for many years.

Her life revolved around her family, she enjoyed every minute spent with her children and grandchildren. Dolly loved to go shopping and have her hair & nails done. She enjoyed sewing and traveling. Her favorite place to travel was to her brother's cottage in Maine.

Dolly had a strong faith in her God and was a faithful and devoted parishioner of Our Lady's Church in Waltham, where she was a part of the Ladies Guild.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 49 years John S. Cianci in 2000.

Dolly is survived by her devoted and loving children Carol A. Tuttle and her husband Robert of Hudson; Cheryl A. Douglas and her husband Paul of Waltham; and Donna M. Cianci and Bernard Arsenault; her cherished grandchildren Deryck Tuttle (Stacey); Ryan Tuttle (Stacia); Ashley Marston (Ryan); Kristen Saia (Eric); Kevin Douglas (Jamie); Scott Douglas (Regina); Brianna Pantalone (Ryan) and Jonathan Pantalone; and her adoring great grandchildren Jalen, Hazel, Lincoln, Cody, Lucy, Emmie, Rylee, Jordyn, Scott, Jr., and Christopher. Dear sister of the late Robert LaPorte, Francis McDonald and Helen Prevost. Sister-in-law of Elaine Cianci of Reading and the late brother-in-law Peter Cianci and niece Sharyn Cianci of Tennessee, nephews Peter Cianci of Florida and Stephen Cianci of Illinois. Also, her best friend Jean Domurat of Virginia.

For the safety of those we love and care about during this difficult time, and for those who wish to pay their respects to Dolly and her family can do so in accordance with CDC, Federal, State and Local guidelines in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, Waltham, MA., on Tuesday Jan. 12th from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m.

Following the Archdiocese of Boston guidelines, family & friends are welcome to gather and celebrate Dolly's life and remember the love she shared with those she touched at a Funeral Mass at Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 920 Trapelo Road, Waltham on Tuesday morning at 11:30 a.m. Her burial will follow at Mount Feake Cemetery.
