Obituary for Joseph A. Boisvert
(Ret.) Waltham Police Officer Joseph A. Boisvert
Of Forest Park in North Fort Myers, Florida formerly of Waltham, passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning January 5th, 2021 at the Tidewell Hospice in Venice, Florida at the age of 94.
Born on July 3, 1926 in Manchester, New Hampshire; son of the late Joseph Boisvert and Jeannette (Anger) Boisvert. Joe was a former resident of Waltham, Ma, and current resident of Forest Park in North Fort Myers, and spent many summers in Dennisport, Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
As many did in his generation he proudly and honorably served with the United States Navy in the South Pacific on the USS Dixie during World War II and was discharged 1946.
In 1953 at the age of 27, Joe began an illustrious career with the City of Waltham Police Department. He was appointed to the Department as a Police Officer- Patrolman June 23, 1953; retiring December 27, 1980 after 27 years of dedicated and faithful service to the Citizens of Waltham.
Joe was a longtime member of the Masonic Waltham Triad Lodge A.F. & A.M., a Master Mason for 60 years.
He devoted his life to his family, community and country; he was kind, helpful, could have a conversation with anyone, an amazing husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Joe was very happily Married in 1946 to his beloved wife Clara G. (Kotsifas) Boisvert who predeceased him on September 24, 2011.
He is survived by his loving son William J. Boisvert of Port Charlotte, FL; his cherished grandchildren Christine M. Boisvert of Miami, FL; Joseph W. Boisvert; and his adoring great-grandson Jason W. Boisvert, both residents of Punta Gorda, FL.
Out of genuine concern for those we love and care deeply about during this difficult time throughout the world and in our community; family will gather to celebrate Joseph's life and remember the love he shared with those he touched at a Private Graveside Funeral Service with Waltham Police Department and United States Navy Military Honors in recognition of his faithful and honorable service to our country and the City of Waltham at Mount Feake Cemetery in Waltham.
