Phyllis Jane Collura of Waltham passed away Saturday April 24, 2021 peacefully at home with Family at the age of 84.
Born on July 6, 1936 in Boston, the daughter of the late Jane (Strugnell) and Philip Furlong, both from Newfoundland. Phyllis grew up in Dorchester and graduated from Jeremiah E. Burke High School for girls. She worked at the State Street Bank in Boston and the Chateau Restaurant in Waltham as a hostess.
Her 60-year marriage to the late Peter Collura, began for 2 years in West Newton then Waltham. Her loving children are Jane Collura and Peter Collura of Waltham and cherished Grandson Jason Collura of Waltham.
Phyllis’ siblings are Jo-Ann Moore of Norwood, Jean Bowes of Walpole, Philip Furlong of Waltham, the late Marion Jelloe of Chelmsford and William Furlong of Weymouth. She was very fond of her many nieces, nephews and friends.
Phyllis enjoyed the arts of music, theatre and multiple crafts including painting, ceramics and crocheting.
Phyllis exuberated a very compassionate and humorous personality and was extremely dedicated to her family. She will be loved and cherished forever.
