Obituary for Robert B. O'Connell
Robert B. OConnell,
Of Homosassa, Fl. passed away on July 23 at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point in Hudson, FL. He was the husband of Sally O’Connell of 38 years.
Bob was born in Malden, MA Feb. 27, 1934 son of the late Helen McMullin and Roy OConnell. Bob was raised in Wayland, MA and graduated from Wayland High School.
He then served in the Air Forced from 1952-1956. After the service Bob attended Northeastern Univ.in Boston to earned his bachelor’s degree.
He was an Engineering Manager at Digital Equip. Corp. and retired in 1992. He moved to Florida in 1995.
Bob loved boating, spending the summers up in Maine, playing golf and spending time with friends and family.
In addition to his wife Sally he is survived by three children Brenda Santinello and her husband Frank of Agawam, MA, Linda OConnell and her husband James Terault of Jacksonville, Fl. and Robert OConnell of Holyoke, MA. Grandfather to Matthew Weir, Ashley Walker, Felicia Rutola, Megan OConnell and Kyle OConnell and 2 Great-Grandchildren.
Brother to Roy OConnell of Waltham, Marilyn McMullin of Dorchester, Maria Love of Medfield.
and preceded in death by sisters Blanche Cardavelli, Virginia Whitcomb and brothers Henry OConnell, John OConnell and Raymond OConnell. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Service in celebration of Robert’s life at the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons, 773 Moody St., Waltham, MA, Monday, August, 26, 2019 at 12 noon. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 10 – 12 noon. Parking attendants will be on duty.
