Marie Terese (Couture) Delaney
Of Waltham, passed away peacefully Tuesday evening July 16th, 2019 surrounded by her loving family in the Care Dimensions Hospice Home in Lincoln after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 65.
Born on March 27, 1954 in Cambridge; daughter of the late Richard C. Couture and Ann M. (Cullinane) Couture, Marie was raised in Waltham and lived for many years in both Waltham and Pepperell.
A graduate of Waltham High School with the Class of 1972, she furthered her education at Boston College. Marie worked at Western Electric in Watertown for several years, and as a Buyer for Yolanda's in Waltham for many years until it closed; most recently she had been employed as an Administrative Assistant with South Shore Gunite Pools of Billerica.
Marie loved and lived life to the fullest; she always enjoyed the company of family & friends. She loved shopping for clothes, going out to dinner especially for Chinese, following the New England Patriot's and was an avid animal lover. Marie traveled to Bermuda and always looked forward to going back.
She is survived by her devoted & loving children Sean Delaney and his wife Jamie of Athol; Justin Delaney of Fitchburg; and Amanda Patti and her husband Collin of Templeton; her dear brother Waltham Police Lieutenant Richard Couture of Waltham; her cherished nephews Richard Couture (MSP) of Worcester; Ryan Couture of Amherst; Cameron Roberts of Santa Barbara, CA; and Matthew Roberts of Malden; her sister-in-law Gina Couture of Marlborough and brother-in-law Craig Roberts of CO; and her former husband and dear friend Stephen Delaney of Fitchburg. In addition she is survived by numerous close & dear friends.
Marie was predeceased by her cherished granddaughter Samantha Delaney and dear sister Donna Roberts.
Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service in celebration of Marie’s Life in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Monday evening July 22nd at 6:00 p.m. Visiting Hours will be held in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons on Monday prior to the Funeral Service from 3 – 6 p.m. Marie's burial will take place beside her dear sister at the Bridge Street Cemetery in West Newbury in a private ceremony for her family at a later date.
In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in Marie’s memory to the Humane Society for Greater Nashua, 24 Ferry Rd, Nashua, NH 03064
