James L. Jimmy" Thurber
Of Waltham, entered eternal rest & peace suddenly Saturday Evening July 13th, 2019 in Newton - Wellesley Hospital at the age of 50.
Born on October 13, 1968 in Cambridge; beloved son of the late Richard L. Thurber and Agnes H. (Melia) Thurber, Jimmy was raised in the Brighton section of Boston and lived the majority of his life in Watertown before moving to Waltham 5 years ago.
Jimmy attended The TILL Day Center in Chelsea for close to the last 30 Years. He was a huge Boston Red Sox fan and he enjoyed listening to music and reading. He loved family gatherings and spending time with friends and most especially being with his nieces.
He is survived by his devoted & loving brother Stephen Thurber and his wife Cathleen "Cathy" of Worcester; and his cherished nieces Caitlyn and Hailey. In addition he is survived by many dear aunts, cousins and numerous friends that were like family within the TILL, WCI and Kendall Park Residence community.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service in celebration of Jimmy's life in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Tuesday morning July 23rd at 11:30 a.m. Visitation will be held in the Mary Catherine Chapel prior to the funeral service from 10 - 11:30 a.m.
In lieu flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to WCI, 135 Beaver Street, Waltham, MA 02452.
