Obituary for Marie A. Cusano (Karelas)
Of Waltham, passed away peacefully Friday June 7th, 2019 at the Maristhill Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Waltham at the age of 92.
Born on August 10, 1926 in Woburn; daughter of the late Theodore and Christina (Ballos) Karelas, Marie was raised in Woburn and has been a Waltham resident for the past 60 years.
A graduate of Woburn High School, Marie worked for a brief period of time at the Maristhill Nursing Home in Waltham.
Family was the most important aspect of her life; she was a beloved wife and caretaker for her husband throughout her life. Their lives revolved around each other.
Marie was predeceased by her beloved husband George "Babe" Cusano, her Late Brothers: Theodore, George and Ernie Karelas, Late Sister-In-law: Nellie Daddona, Late Sister-In-Law: Carolina Cusano, Late Sister-In-Law: Alice Karelas, late Michael and Rose Cusano, the late William and Angelina and Family, the late James and Jacey Cusano and Family, the late Salvatore Cusano, the late Frank Cusano, the late George Daddona, and her late nephew Charles Morreale.
She is survived by her dear sister Bella Bruno, Sister-In-Law: Delia Verros and Delia's Daughter Patricia Alonzi, Sister-In-Law: Rita Karelas, Sister-In-Law: Emma Morreale, Nephews: George and Mark Alonzi, Jack Daddona, James, Arthur, Joe, Stephen and David Karelas; Nieces: Peggy Fallon, Olga D'Tammaso, Irene Dellacamera, Terry Pasquariello, Janet Cusano and Diana Karampour. In addition she is survived by numerous grand Nieces and Nephews.
Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend Funeral Services in celebration of Marie's life from the Brasco & Sons Memorial Funeral Home on Thursday morning June 13th at 9:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, WALTHAM at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Saint Patrick's Cemetery in Watertown. Visiting Hours will be held in the Funeral Home on Wednesday June 12th from 4 - 7 p.m.
