Obituary for Raymond Wolter Roemers

Raymond Wolter Roemers

Of Bellingham, passed away, Thursday, March 7, 2019 after a lengthy illness. He was 61.

Born in Maastricht, Netherlands to the late Maximilian and Fenna (Rompis) Roemers, he came to the United States with his family as a young boy settling in Newton. He attended Newton North High School, Raymond spent many years in Newton before moving to Florida in 1997 and then to Bellingham in 2011, where he has been a resident ever since.

Mr. Roemers worked for the Town of Wellesley in the Highway Department for some time and most recently for JT Sturm Corporation as a truck driver and a crane operator tester.

In his spare time Raymond enjoyed painting, playing video games, watching the Red Sox, reading Stephen King books, and his Dog Brady.

He is survived by his loving sister Maria Sturm of Bellingham, brother William V. Roemers and his wife Sandra of Ashland, his nieces Jennifer MacLeod of Uxbridge, Jac Sturm of Bellingham, and Sara McDonald of New York, his nephews Jay Christopher Sturm of Somerville, and William, “Billy” Roemers of Ashland, and his grandnephew Aiden.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visiting hours at the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons, 773 Moody St., WALTHAM, Tuesday, March 12, 2019 from 4-6 pm followed by a Memorial Service in celebration of Raymond’s life at 6 pm. Parking attendants will be on duty.
