Obituary for Maryann Cavallaro (Stagliano)
Of Waltham, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning December 29th, 2018 surrounded by her loving family at her daughters home in Fitchburg at the age of 81.
Born on September 5, 1937 in Cambridge; daughter of the late John and Josephine (Rizza) Stagliano, Maryann was raised in Cambridge but lived most of her life in Waltham.
A graduate of Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School with the Class of 1955, Maryann worked in her father's bakery Liano & Son in Waltham where she met the love of her life her husband Mario. In the late 1980's she joined as a teacher's assistant at Waltham Daycare, were she remained as a beloved employee for 33 years, retiring in September 2017.
Maryann had a strong faith and was an active and devoted member of the Saint Mary’s Parish Community as well as Our Lady's Parish in Waltham.
Family was the most important aspect of her life and she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In her spare time she enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and was an absolutely amazing cook.
Beloved wife of the late Concetto Mario Cavallaro.
Maryann is survived by her devoted & loving children Mario P. Cavallaro and his wife Jennifer of Sudbury, Sandra Barbagallo and her husband Steven of Fitchburg, and John Cavallaro and his wife Carrie of Leominster, her cherished grandchildren Michelle Abbascia and her husband Michael, Joshua Cavallaro, Zachary Barbagallo and Gabriella Cavallaro, her adoring great grandchildren Mason & Myles and her dear sister Joan Stagliano and late brother Joseph Stagliano. In addition she is survived by many nieces & nephews.
Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend Funeral Services from the Brasco & Sons Memorial Funeral Home, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Saturday morning Jan. 5th at 9:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Maryann’s Life at Saint Mary’s Church, 145 School Street, Waltham at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mount Feake Cemetery. Visiting Hours will be held in the Funeral Home on Friday Jan. 4th from 4 – 8 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
