Obituary for Christina J. Russo (Rando)

Christina J. (Rando) Russo of Waltham & Weston, youngest daughter of the late Philip Rando and his wife, the late Caterina (Difina), entered into eternal rest on Sunday, December 23, 2018, at her home in Waltham, among family and friends, after a brief illness.

Beloved wife of the late Joseph R. Russo, devoted mother to Donna R. (Russo) Hayes and her husband Malcolm (“Mac”) of Waltham and Weston, loving grandmother of Seth R. Hayes and his wife Elizabeth (Clancy) of Weymouth, Ryan C. Hayes and his wife Julie (Lomartire) of Bellingham.
She also leaves her treasured great-grandchildren, Violet, Caleigh, Nicolette, Dylan and Jacob.
Christina was predeceased by her siblings, John S. Rando (Gloucester), Rose (Rando) Cappadona, Katherine (Rando) Tortola, Marian (Rando) Rando and Bartolo Rando, who died as a young child. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She will be remembered fondly by associates and friends from the garment mill in Waltham, the Wal-Lex Recreation Center (Waltham), the Stigmatine Retreat House (Waltham), volunteers from Our Lady of Comforter of the Afflicted parish (Waltham), the members and staff of the Waltham YMCA, as well as neighbors at the Brook School Apartments and members of the Council on Aging in Weston.

Christina was devoted member of both Our Lady’s (Waltham) and Saint Julia’s (Weston) parishes. She was an accomplished bowler, ping-pong player and artist. Later in life, she resumed her education to achieve both a high school diploma (Waltham High School) and an Associates degree (Childhood Education) from Middlesex Community College. She also completed several, continuing education courses at Regis College (Weston). Christina traveled extensively as a Tour Leader for McKenzie Travel (Waltham) and Durgan Travel (Stoneham), in affiliation with the Stigmatine Retreat House.

Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend Funeral Services in celebration of Christina's Life from the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM Friday Dec. 28th at 9:30 am with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted, 920 Trapelo Road, Waltham at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waltham. Visiting Hours will be held in the Funeral Home on Thursday Dec. 27th from 4 - 8 p.m.
