Lauraine M. (Poirier) Morreale

Of Waltham & Polk City, Florida, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at her home in Waltham at the age of 83.

Lauraine was born on February 13, 1936 in Waltham; beloved daughter to the late Albany G. and Isabelle M. (Delaney) Poirier. She lived in Waltham for most of her life and raised her five children there.

In earlier years, Lauraine was a member of the Jaycee-ettes of Waltham and the Waltham Lady Lions. She had a lifelong passion for singing and could often be found at family gatherings and senior centers playing piano. Lauraine shone brightest while sharing her love of music with others. For a time, she worked as a nursing assistant at the Newton Convalescent Center in Newton, MA.

In her later years, she enjoyed spending time with her companion of 22 years, Leo Leblanc and her dog, Pitou, living seasonally in Polk City, Florida and Cocagne, New Brunswick, Canada.

Lauraine was preceded in death by her father, Albany, her mother, Isabelle and her companion Leo.

She is survived by her five children, Dr. Stephen A. and Kathleen (Scafidi) Morreale of Southborough, MA, Darlene A. (Morreale) and Charles Sinunu of Ellicott City, MD, Cheryl K. (Morreale) Hart and her partner Renee Green of Auburn, MA, Jay B. and Pamela (Peters) Morreale of Lake Elmo, MN, Deane L. and Katherine (Sementelli) Morreale of Natick, MA; her grandchildren, Kimberlee, Jessica and Katelyn Morreale, Casey and Darby Sinunu, Matthew Hart and his wife Sandra, Justin and Derek Hart, Courtney Hart and her fiancé Jonathan DeFalco, Nicholas and Isabella Morreale, Ray, Cameron and Ryan Morreale and her great-grandchild, Julian Hart.

Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service in celebration of Lauraine's life in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Monday, July 1st at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held prior to the service on Monday from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private.
