Obituary

Lauraine M. (Poirier) Morreale

Of Waltham & Polk City, Florida, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at her home in Waltham at the age of 83.

Lauraine was born on February 13, 1936 in Waltham; beloved daughter to the late Albany G. and Isabelle M. (Delaney) Poirier. She lived in Waltham for most of her life and raised her five children there.

In earlier years, Lauraine was a member of the Jaycee-ettes of Waltham and the Waltham Lady Lions. She had a lifelong passion for singing and could often be found at family gatherings and senior centers playing piano. Lauraine shone brightest while sharing her love of music with others. For a time, she worked as a nursing assistant at the Newton Convalescent Center in Newton, MA.

In her later years, she enjoyed spending time with her companion of 22 years, Leo Leblanc and her dog, Pitou, living seasonally in Polk City, Florida and Cocagne, New Brunswick, Canada.

Lauraine was preceded in death by her father, Albany, her mother, Isabelle and her companion Leo.

She is survived by her five children, Dr. Stephen A. and Kathleen (Scafidi) Morreale of Southborough, MA, Darlene A. (Morreale) and Charles Sinunu of Ellicott City, MD, Cheryl K. (Morreale) Hart and her partner Renee Green of Auburn, MA, Jay B. and Pamela (Peters) Morreale of Lake Elmo, MN, Deane L. and Katherine (Sementelli) Morreale of Natick, MA; her grandchildren, Kimberlee, Jessica and Katelyn Morreale, Casey and Darby Sinunu, Matthew Hart and his wife Sandra, Justin and Derek Hart, Courtney Hart and her fiancé Jonathan DeFalco, Nicholas and Isabella Morreale, Ray, Cameron and Ryan Morreale and her great-grandchild, Julian Hart.

Relatives & friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service in celebration of Lauraine's life in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Monday, July 1st at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held prior to the service on Monday from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private.

We just learned of Lauraine's passing. I sit here in tears. We visited Lauraine (& Leo) many, many times in New Brunswick and Florida. The last thing we did before leaving Florida for New Brunswick, was to go visit Lauraine & Pitou. She loved her family so very much, that it is if we know each and every one of you. She would talk about you all with great love. Her 5 children, grand children and great grand son. She showed us picture after picture and video's of the newest great grand baby on her tablet. It certainly will not be the same with such a wonderful person leaving us. May she RIP. We are sending our sincere condolences, hugs & love. I would love to hear from one of her children please, to know where Pitou is and how things are going. I will miss her. She is like a mom I never had.
Love you Lauraine.

Gone too soon, Mom.
You were just back for a longer stay in Waltham and gearing up for some family time. Thanks for all you did. You said the COPD would get you. You were right, but way too soon. Still hard to believe.

You may be gone but not forgotten. All of your kids got together, with their families today to toast you. You would have enjoyed the reunion, the banter, the food and drink, and the laughter.

We only hope you have reunited with our loved ones who preceded you. Make sure the piano is in tune!
You'll be missed. Love you.

Mom, I wish I had one more day with you to let you know how much I love you, how special you are to me, how much I depended on you, I much I appreciated your support, love, trust, faith. I will miss you every day of my life because you were not only my Mom but my friend. I loved talking to you every day sometimes twice, three times. You gave so much of yourself and I only can hope that I tried to give back to you all my love, support and respect. I love you, I need you, I miss you. Too soon you left me, too fast.
I know you will be with me every day, every minute for the rest of my life. Love you so much Mom. Be at peace. Give Leo, Momeye and Popeye a big hug and kiss. I love you Mom. Will not be the same without you in my life.
