Obituary for Stella Agnes Kokidko (Kokidko)

Stella Agnes Kokidko

Of Waltham, passed away peacefully, Sunday, December 16, 2018 at the Maristhill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Waltham, following a few short months of Declining Health. She was 96.

Stella, who was one of nine children, born in Cambridge, August 24, 1922 to the late Frederick and Margaret (Sciuk). Until her retirement, she worked at the Mica Corporation in Waltham.

Stella kept a wonderful home and was a talented gardener. Her baking skills were always appreciated by family and friends. It didn’t need to be a holiday to get a homemade treat in Stella’s kitchen; her raspberry squares were among the favorite. Stella also enjoyed time spent with family in Falmouth and in New Hampshire. Rooting for the Red Sox and Patriots was also a passion of hers in her later years. Stella was a lifelong parishioner of Saint Charles Borromeo Parish.

Stella is survived by her sisters Olga Kokidko, Anne Doucette and her late husband Bernard of Waltham, and Margaret Sundin and her late husband Charles of Stephens City, Virginia. She was also the sister of her five late brothers John and his late wife Ann, Leo and his late wife Claire, Walter “Budjo”, Alfred of Waltham, and Frederick "George” of Falmouth and Newport, NH. Stella also leaves many beloved nieces and nephews along with their families who long ago unofficially bestowed her with the role of “Grandmother of the Homestead”.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service in celebration of Stella’s life at the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons, 773 Moody St., WALTHAM, Thursday, December 20, 2018 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at Mount Feake Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 9 – 11 am. Parking attendants will be on duty.
