Obituary for Leonard J MacLellan

Leonard J. MacLellan

Of Waltham passed away, Tuesday December 4, 2018 at the Newton-Wellesley Hospital. He was 75.
Born and raised in Inverness, Nova Scotia, Canada to the late Malcolm D. and Ann (Gillis) MacLellan, he was one of fourteen children. Leonard moved to the Waltham area when he was 18 and has been a resident ever since.

Leonard worked in the Sheet Metal Workers Union for many years. He also worked at MacLellan Polishing in Waltham as a younger man.

In his spare time, Mr. MacLellan loved watching Baseball, Football, and especially Hockey. He loved Horse racing and visiting family in Canada. Most of all he loved family and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his devoted and longtime partner Joan Barrile of Waltham, his loving children Leonard M. “Lenny” MacLellan and his wife Traci (Luke) of Waltham, Catherine (Barrile) Barreto and her husband Marcos of Providence, and Michael Barrile and his wife Kathy (McLean) of Newton, his sister Mary MacLellan of Inverness, Nova Scotia, his brother Jerome MacLellan of Halifax, Nova Scotia, his cherished grandchildren Scott, Michael, David, Michael, and Marissa, and his great grandchildren Jacob and Hailey. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service in celebration of Leonard’s life at the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons, 773 Moody St., WALTHAM, Monday, December 10, at 7 pm. Interment will be private. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 5 to 7 pm. Parking attendants will be on duty.
