She received her first mission assignment in 1951 to the South Solomon Islands, where she worked with the local Diocesan Sisters in Formation. In 1954, Sister Gloria needed medical attention and went to Sydney, Australia, where she stayed for a few years and did her Teacher Training and worked in the Province.

In 1963, Sister returned to the United States and was mission-ed to Jamaica and worked at Hansen Home for two years before returning to the United States for a Spiritual Renewal. From 1970-1971, Sister worked and received her LPN in Nursing at Y’ouville Hospital in Cambridge, MA. and her RN in 1974 from Mercy Hospital in Portland, ME.
