Obituary for Donald Joseph MacInnis

Of Waltham, passed away peacefully Tuesday evening October 2nd, 2018 with his loving family by his side in his home after a long illness at the age of 79.

Born on December 10, 1938 in Boston; son of the late Daniel MacInnis and Mary Elizabeth (MacLean) MacInnis, Don was raised in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, he came back to the United States as a young man and resided in Watertown for most of his life before moving to Waltham 20 years ago.

A passionate sports fan, Don loved playing hockey as a goalie and coached Watertown Youth Hockey for many years. He was a longtime member of the Canadian-American Club of Watertown and the Belmont Knights of Columbus.

Donald is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years Leona Ann (Kennedy) MacInnis, his loving & devoted children Joseph MacInnis of Framingham and Donna MacInnis of Waltham, his cherished grandchildren Joseph, Sean and Avery, and his dear brother Douglas MacInnis of Nova Scotia. In addition he is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Donald’s Life at Saint Patrick's Church, 212 Main Street, WATERTOWN, on Friday morning Oct. 12th at 9:00 a.m.
