Obituary for Michael J. Papia

Michael Papia

Of Mansfield, passed away Saturday afternoon, September 29, 2018 at the Life Care Center of Attleboro after a lengthy illness. He was 65.

Born in Cambridge and raised in Belmont by the late Stephen and Carmella (Sabato) Papia, he was a long-time resident of Belmont until moving to Mansfield recently. He was a 1971 graduate of Belmont High School.

Mr. Papia worked as a buyer of medical equipment for Philips HealthCare for many years.

In his spare time, Michael enjoyed traveling, especially taking cruises. He was also a huge fan especially of the Patriots, College Basketball, and all the Boston teams.

He was the brother of the late Stephen J. Papia.

He is survived by his loving wife Janice (Vento) Papia of Mansfield, his brother Richard Papia and his wife Diane of Ludlow, his nephew Matthew Papia of Ludlow, and his nieces Nicole Dzicek of CT, and Danielle Virgilio of Needham, his sister-in-law Linda Papia of Randolph, his Uncle Paul Giunta and his wife Pam of Marlborough, and his aunt Mary Mingace of Belmont. Also survived by many cousins.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service in celebration of Michael’s life at the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons, 773 Moody St., Waltham, Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 10 am. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held in the Funeral Home Friday evening from 3-7 pm. Parking attendants will be on duty.
