Of Stow, passed away peacefully Thursday August 2nd, 2018 in the Care Dimensions Hospice House in Lincoln at the age of 91.

Born on February 26, 1927 in East Boston; son of the late Antonio and Helen (Ippolito) Luciano, Lou was raised in East Boston and moved to Waltham where he raised his family and lived most of his life before moving to Stow 14 years ago.

Lou attended Boston Public Schools; and as a young man proudly served with the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean War. After returning from service to his country he worked for a period of time at Massachusetts General Hospital and Copley Plaza as a line cook. He later worked as an Iron Worker with Iron Works of Somerville before taking the test and applying to be a Firefighter with the City of Waltham Fire Department. In January of 1958, Lou was appointed a permanent position as a Firefighter for the City of Waltham and served his community for over 27 years retiring in January 1985. During that time he worked part-time as a Courier for the Waltham/Weston Hospital.

He was a past member of the Waltham Firefighter's Relief Association, the Professional Firefighter's Association of Massachusetts, the International Firefighter's Association, Waltham Lions Club, the John M. Sullivan Veterans of Foreign Wars VFW Post #10334 and the Joseph F. Hill American Legion Post #156 both in Waltham.

Lou loved life and lived it to the fullest; he enjoyed making people laugh and had a simple way about him. His family truly was the central focus of his life especially his grandchildren. He had a passion for cooking, was always remodeling and working on household projects, playing any and all card games with family & friends, listening to music, watching classic movies and following his favorite Boston sports team the Red Sox and New England Patriot's.

Louis "Lucky" Luciano is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years Frances J. (Ordile) Luciano, his loving & devoted daughters Michele Luciano Franchi of Hopkinton, Donna Tuttle and her husband William Tuttle of Lancaster, and Julie Serra and her husband Domenic Serra of Southboro, his cherished grandchildren Anthony, Joseph and Alicia Franchi, Victoria Tuttle, Domenic, Nina and Santino Serra. In addition he is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service in celebration of Lucky's Life in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Thursday morning Aug. 9th at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow with Waltham Fire Department and United States Navy Military Honors at Mount Feake Cemetery in Waltham. Visiting Hours will be held in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons on Wednesday Aug. 8th from 3 – 7 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
