Obituary for Juana Antonia Gonzalez (Lucero)

Of Framingham, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning August 2nd, 2018 surrounded by her loving family in her home at the age of 95.

Born on June 24, 1923 in Jalapa, Guatemala; daughter of the late Estanislao Gonzalez and Angela Lucero, Juana immigrated to the United States with her family and resided in Waltham and Watertown before moving to Framingham 25 years ago.

She was strong in faith and a devoted member of the Getsemani Pentecostal Church. Her faith and her family were the most important aspects of her life. She will be remembered as a sweet, loving, humble woman with strong faith.

She loved life and loved to laugh, spend time surrounded by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was always making sure everyone was well-fed and taken care of.

She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Beloved wife of the Juan Pablo Ortiz, loving mother of the late Esperanza, José, Lesby, cherished grandmother of the late Angel Alexis and adoring great grandmother of the late Anya.

Juana had 11 Children and is survived by her devoted & loving children Elodia, Amelia, Jorge, Ayde, Orbelinda, Dany, Pablo, & Roxana. In addition she is survived by 33 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces & nephews.

Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend Visiting Hours in celebration of Juana’s Life in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Monday evening August 6th from 6:00 - 10:00 p.m. Funeral Services and Burial will take place in Guatemala.
