Obituary for Anthony J. "Tony" DeFelice

Of Waltham, passed away peacefully Sunday morning July 29th, 2018 in the Neville House in Cambridge at the age of 95.

Born on March 19, 1923 in Watertown; son of the late Joseph and Phyllis (Martocchio) DeFelice, Tony was raised in Watertown and moved to Waltham after his marriage and has been a resident ever since.

Tony attended Watertown Public Schools and as a young man worked as a Farmer. He then owned and operated A. DeFelice Moving Company for over 35 years.

He was a past member of the Waltham Sons of Italy Dante Algheri Lodge # 648 and the Waltham Elks Lodge B.P.O.E. # 952.

Tony loved tending to his garden and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan.

Tony is survived by his beloved wife of 72 years Muriel (Berry) DeFelice, his loving & devoted children Anthony J. DeFelice Jr. and his wife Yvette of Plymouth, James P. DeFelice and his wife Patricia of Ashland and Nancy Santolucito and her husband Bill of Waltham, his cherished grandchildren Anthony DeFelice III, Stephen DeFelice, Brian DeFelice, Lisa DeFelice, Theresa Goodrow, Kimberly Michel, William Santolucito and Eric Santolucito, and dear siblings Mary Marini, Rocco DeFelice, Franny Caruso, Eleanor Caruso, and Florence Nocera all of Watertown, Joseph DeFelice of Belmont, and Rita DeFelice of Framingham. In addition he is survived by 7 adoring great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dear brother of the late Tina DeVito, Theresa Schofield, Albert, Michael, George and Louis DeFelice.

Relatives and Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service in celebration of Anthony’s Life in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Thursday morning Aug. 2nd at 10:30 a.m. Visiting Hours will be held in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons on Wednesday Aug. 1st from 3 – 7 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
