Obituary for Jean Claude Belcher

Of Newton, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning July 25th, 2018 in his home surrounded by his loving family after a brief but courageous battle with cancer at the age of 57.

Born on May 10, 1961 in Port-Au-Prince,Haiti; beloved son of Cineus Belcher and Madeniere (Pierre) Belcher, Juan immigrated to the United States as a young man and has resided in Newton while traveling back and forth from Haiti.

Jean Claude received a Master's Degree in Education and was a Teacher & Professor back in Haiti. He was an Associate Pastor at the Church of God. He loved preaching, singing and leading people.

He is survived by his loving wife Immacula Jean-Pierre, his devoted children Hadassa Belcher of Haiti and Alain Pierre Belcher of Newton, his dear siblings Pierrot, Simone, Josette and Wesner Belcher all of Haiti. In addition he is survived by many cherished nieces, nephews, great nieces & great nephews, and cousins.

Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend Visiting Hours in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Friday evening August 3rd from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Service in celebration of Jean Claude's Life will be held on Saturday morning Aug. 4th in the Elevation Chapel, 150 Lowell Avenue, Newtonville at 9:00 with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Waltham.
