Obituary for Fioravante A. Parente

Fioravante Amedeo Parente

After enjoying a lifetime in Waltham, Amedeo and his wife Anna followed the Sun and began their
next adventure together and took up residency in the Villages in Florida. He passed away in
peacefully on Thursday evening November 8th, 2018 with most of his loving family by his side in
Florida at the age of 83.

Born on January 2, 1935 in Minturno, Italy; son of the late Antonio and Angela (Vento) Parente.
Fioravante, known to friends and family as Amedeo, was raised in Italy and began his first lifelong
adventure when he immigrated to the United States as a young married man. He resided in West
Newton before moving to Waltham in the 70’s where he spent most of his life.

He attended school in Italy and brought his drive to America to provide a better life for his family.
He showed his children the value of a great work ethic through a lifelong career in the
construction and landscaping industry. He was a man of many talents and ingenuity and has left
us with many of his inventions.

He remained loyal throughout his life to his faith, heritage, and family. His faith never wavered as
a devote parishioner of Our Lady Help of Christians in Newton, Sacred Heart Parish Community
in Waltham and St Timothy’s in the Villages. He kept his heritage alive as a member of the Sons
of Italy Dante Algheri Lodge #648 in Waltham for many years. His love of Italy and his family was
memorialized with pictures that reminded him of where he came from as well as the family and
friends he left behind. Throughout his entire life, he found immense joy in sharing the fruits of his
labor from his garden as well as his homemade wine with all those he met. His ability for creating
beauty though topiary designs have left lasting memories over the decades for all who passed
his home.

Amedeo is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years Anna (Riscolo) Parente, his devoted & loving
children Antonio Parente (Nancy) of Florida, John Mark Parente of Waltham, and Angela Parente
of West Newton, his cherished grandchildren Bianca, Matt, John, Benny, Gabby, Bella and Leo.
In addition he is survived by many nieces & nephews throughout the world.

He was the youngest and was predeceased by his loving brothers & sisters. Elisa, Giovanni,
Biaggio, Antonietta, Rosa, and Orlanda.

His life was a reflection of beauty he created through his family and every flower that
bloomed around him.
