Obituary for Paul Herbert Sheppard

Of Pooler, Georgia formerly of Cambridge & Waltham, Massachusetts passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday May 29th, 2018 in his home at the age of 76.

Born on March 14, 1943 in Cambridge, Massachusetts; son of the late George and Viola Sheppard, Paul was raised in Cambridge and had lived for many years in Waltham before moving to Georgia over 20 years ago.

Paul served proudly with the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was awarded The Army Commendation medal, The Combat Infantryman Badge and the Army Paratrooper Badge as well as all associated Vietnam Campaign medals. He was discharged Honorably in January 1969 after 3 years of service to his Country.

On May 23, 1970, Paul married the love of his life Corrine (Maranda) Sheppard in Boston, MA.

Together, they raised their family in Waltham; Paul was always active in his sons lives, following all their sporting events. He had been employed with the Polaroid Corporation in Waltham for many years until his retirement.

Paul was predeceased by his beloved wife Corrine (Maranda) Sheppard, and his loving youngest son Donald G. "Donny" Sheppard and his cherished grandson Darren.

He is survived by his devoted & loving oldest son (Ret.) United States Army Veteran Paul M. Sheppard and his wife Jamie of Savannah, GA, his dear siblings Charles, William, Richard, Carolanne and Sharon. In addition he is survived by six cherished grandchildren and many nieces & nephews.

Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend Visiting Hours in the Brasco & Sons Memorial Funeral Home, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Thursday evening June 7th from 6 - 8 p.m. A Graveside Funeral Service with United States Army Military Honors in celebration of Paul's Life will be held at the V.A. Massachusetts Veterans National Cemetery, MacArthur Blvd. (Rte.#28) at OTIS A.F.B. in BOURNE on Friday afternoon June 8th at 1:30 p.m.
