Obituary for Ann Louise Tripp (Schirmer)

Of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on Monday May 14th, 2018 surrounded by her loving family in her daughters home in Waltham. She was 86.

Born on November 17, 1932 in Portsmouth, New Hampshire; daughter of the late Clarence Schirmer and Louise (Paraday) Schirmer, Ann was was raised in Portsmouth, NH, and a graduate of Fisher College of Boston. Ann raised her children in Foxborough, MA, where she spent many years selling Avon, before retiring back to her childhood home in Portsmouth, NH

Ann was a devoted & loving homemaker to her family throughout her life and spent many years selling Avon.

She loved doing crossword puzzles and being outdoors tending to her garden. Ann was a diehard New England Patriot's Fan. She also enjoyed watching mysteries (her favorite: Murder She Wrote) and the Hallmark channel.

Ann loved being surrounded by family & friends especially on Mother's Day. She had the ability to make everyone feel special; she was a caring & loving woman who always put others first.

She is survived by her devoted & loving children James Elgin Tripp and his wife Jane (Callaway) of Franklin, Cheryl Marie (Tripp) Dupre and her husband Randall of Middleborough, Joni Lynn Tripp and Joseph Maffei of Waltham, William Edward Tripp and his wife Lisa (Hanson) of Whitman, her cherished grandchildren Kelley French, Jeffrey and Michael Tripp, Timothy and Andrew Riel, (the late) Brian Nolette and his sister, Brooke and Blake Callaway and her adoring 14 great grandchildren along with her dear siblings John Schirmer and his wife Jane, Mary Unruh and her (late) husband Richard, Lisa Hartley and (the late) Margo Ferrara. In addition she is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

A private Graveside Funeral Service in celebration of Ann's Life will be held at Central Cemetery in Halifax.

In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to MightyDrum.org, charity founded in memory of her late grandson, Brian.
