Obituary for Richard D. Casey

Of Newtonville, passed away peacefully early Friday morning May 4th, 2018 in his home at the age of 71

Born on May 30, 1946 in Boston; son of the late Thomas and Marguerite (Flood) Casey, Richard was raised in the Roslindale & West Roxbury sections of Boston, and moved to Newton in 1972.

A graduate of Roslindale High School with the Class of 1964, Richard furthered his education at Boston State and completed his Masters Degree at Boston University.

Richard was employed as a Social Worker throughout his life. He worked as an adjunct Professor at Salem State University for several years.

Richard loved boating and had a passion for fishing and golfing. He spent many summers at Peabody Pond in Maine.

Richard was a huge fan of the Drop Kick Murphy's and enjoyed going to many of their concerts.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years Linda Anne (Catavolo) Casey, his loving sons Nolan Casey of Framingham and Matthew Casey and his wife Lisa of Bridgewater, his cherished grandson Lucas Casey, and his dear siblings Patricia Morrison of Sandwich, Stephen Casey of Walpole and the late Kenneth Casey. In addition he is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces & great nephews.

Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service in celebration of Richard’s Life in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Monday morning May 7th at 11:00 a.m. Visiting Hours will be held in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons prior to the Funeral Service from 10 – 11 a.m. Parking attendants on duty.
