Obituary for John Martin Zamoida

Of Worcester, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday evening March 21st, 2018 at Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester at the age of 65.

Born on January 15, 1953 in Pawtucket, Rhode Island; beloved son of the late Walter Zamoida and Jane (Rogala) Zamoida, John was raised in Pawtucket and lived in Central Falls & Providence, Rhode Island before moving to Worcester 25 years ago.

A graduate of Saint Raphael Academy in 1971 and Providence College in 1992; John had been employed as a Safety Supervisor with White Construction Company for many years. John had a passion for history and loved his job at the Worcester Historical Museum where he worked as Education Coordinator for over 25 years until his retirement this past February. He had been working part-time most recently for the FedEx Corporation in their Auburn distribution center.

John was a kind, considerate and above all a caring soul who loved being social and interacting with others. He loved entertainment and was a movie buff, enjoyed studying history and traveling the world with his partner.

His family was his greatest treasure and he loved the moments spent with all of them.

John is survived by his devoted & loving siblings Walter Zamoida of the Villages in Florida, Claudia Barsalou and her husband Gerard of Cumberland, Rhode Island, Craig C. Zamoida and his wife Kathy of Auburn, NH and the late Melanie Vine, and his cherished nieces & nephews Jillian, Jocelyn, Robert, Bobby and Michelle. In addition he is survived by many grand nieces, grand nephews, and numerous close friends.

He was the loving & devoted partner of the late Ronald Stalford for over 25 years.

In honoring John's wishes funeral services in celebration of his life will be held private for his family.
