Obituary for James Francis Shread Sr.

Of Townsend formerly of Waltham, passed away peacefully Monday February 5th, 2018 Nashoba Valley Medical Center in Ayer at the age of 67.

Born on February 27, 1950 in Waltham; son of the late John and Margaret (LeFort) Shread, Jim was raised and lived his entire life in Waltham moving to Townsend last year.

A graduate of Waltham High School with the Class of 1968, Jim was employed as a General Contractor throughout his life. He also worked in the printing industry with the Andrews Printing Company and WMF Printing.

Jim was a past member of the Waltham Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1018 and the V.F.W. Post #2152 Felton Street in Waltham.

His greatest enjoyment in life came from spending time with his grandchildren. He loved taking them fishing, camping and any outdoor activities. He was a passionate Boston sports fan following all the sports teams. Jim also enjoyed collecting and player the guitar.

Beloved husband of the late Wendy Ellen (Brown) Shread.

Jim is survived by his loving sons James F. Shread Jr. of Townsend and Adam Shread of Waltham, his cherished grandchildren Michaela, John, Ryan, Zachery, Ashley, Michael and Grayson, and his dear sister Carol Boyce of Chatham.

Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Service in celebration of James Life in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Saturday afternoon Feb. 10th at 3:30 p.m. Visitation will be held prior to the Memorial Service on Saturday afternoon from 2pm - 3:30 p.m.
