Joseph J.  Sabetti
Of Waltham, passed away suddenly on Saturday morning January 27th, 2018 in Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, at the age of 92.

Born on July 29, 1925 in Newton; son of the late Andrew and Mary (Izzo) Sabetti, Joe was raised in Newton but lived most of his life in Waltham.

A graduate of Waltham High School, Joe owned & operated Waltham Construction Company for over 50 years.

Joe proudly served with the United States Army 550th Airborne Infantry Battalion during World War II and was the recipient of the Purple Heart.

He was a member of the Waltham Sons of Italy Dante Algheri Lodge # 648 and a member of the Oakley Country Club in Watertown. He had a passion for golf and playing the drums. He had been a professional drummer and instructor in his younger years.

Joe is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Marie A. (DiMurro) Sabetti, his devoted & loving daughters, Patricia Oliff and her husband Allen Oliff of Gwynedd Valley, PA; Laura Sabetti of Norristown, PA; Susan Sabetti and her husband David Gillespie of Hilton Head, SC; Joanne Sabetti Lucas and her husband Raymond Lucas Jr. of Hopkinton MA. In addition he is survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Dear brother of the late Thomas Sabetti of Newton, Samuel Sabetti of Waltham, and Anna Yarossi of Waltham.

Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service in celebration of Joseph's life in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Friday morning Feb. 2nd at 11:00. United States Army Military Honors will conclude the services. Visiting Hours will be held prior to the Funeral Service from 9 - 11 a.m.

Donations in lieu of flowers can be made in his memory to Waltham Sons of Italy Scholarship Fund, 99 Cedar Street, PO Box 376, Waltham, MA 02454-0376. Attn: Tom Magno.
