Yolanda "Yuyu" J. (Schebeci) Leger
Of Waltham, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at the Stanley R. Tippet Hospice Home in Needham. She was 86.
Born and raised in Waltham to the late Joseph and Josephine (LaCava) Schebeci, she was the youngest and last surviving of eight children. She was a 1948 graduate of St. Charles High School and a lifelong resident of Waltham.
She worked as a waitress for 47 years at the Chateau Restaurant in Waltham until her retirement in 2016 at the age of 85. Mrs. Leger also volunteered her time for Meals on Wheels and at the Maristhill Nursing Home.
Yolanda was a devout Catholic and went to Mass daily at both St. Charles and Sacred Heart Church. In her spare time she loved to cook and bake, being with her friends and family, entertaining, and dancing. She would bring her husband out dancing any chance she got.
She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph G. Leger.
She is survived by her loving children Michael Leger and his wife Claire (Barry) of Uxbridge, George Leger of Guatemala, and John Leger and his wife Mary (Lynch) of Waltham, her cherished grandchildren Laurie Woodworth and her husband Jay of Framingham, Eric Leger and his wife Angela of Coventry, RI, Andrew Leger of Uxbridge, Matthew Leger of West Palm Beach, FL, and Marc, Nicholas, and Hayley Leger all of Waltham, and her great grandchildren Jackson, Declan, Rowan, Michael, Nicholas, and Hannah. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours from the Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody St., WALTHAM, Saturday morning from 9 to 10:30 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Yolanda's life at Sacred Heart Church, 311 River St. at 11 a.m. Interment, Mount Feake Cemetery. Parking attendants will be on duty.
