Obituary for Melvin Jimenez Jr.

Melvin Jimenez, Jr.

Of Waltham, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly, Friday, October 20, 2017. He was 33.

Melvin was a lifelong resident of Waltham and a 2002 graduate of Waltham High School. After High School he joined the United States Army. He served honorably for three tours, one in Iraq and two in Afghanistan. Sgt. Jimenez loved his country and loved the men and women he served with.

Melvin loved art. He was a talented artist who loved to draw and paint. Some of his murals are still on the walls of Waltham High School. He was also a skilled tattoo artist. Many of his family members and friends have some of his artwork on them that they will cherish forever. Above all other things Melvin loved his family especially his children.

He is survived by cherished children Bryanna, Sophie, and Aaron, his loving parents Wanda Sanchez and Jose Rivera of Waltham, and Melvin Jimenez, Sr., his devoted siblings Melvin Jimenez, and his wife Ashley (Hession) of Waltham, Michelle A. Sanchez of Waltham, and Glenda Jimenez of Wellesley, and his grandmother Eva Torres Sanchez of Puerto Rico. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

He was the devoted brother of the late Mellissa Rivera.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend funeral services from the Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody St., WALTHAM, Friday, October 27, 2017 at 9 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Melvin's life at Saint Mary's Church, 145 School St., Waltham, at 10 a.m. Interment with military honors will follow at Mount Feake Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 4-8 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
