I really did think your mom would live forever. After your father passed... I knew she could keep on going and going and going. But she could do this with her inner determination to continue to love life and most of all her children. You both cared for her.. being sure she was well cared for in all of the places she lived after leaving the Cape. Your kids loved those trips down to Falmouth to visit and after a full day, never minded falling to sleep with their pillows in the back of the car.I was thankful to help with her decision to live in Norton... close enough to see you frequently and still enjoying her independence.
With longevity in her blood lines... I am not at all surprised that even beyond her 100 birthday party she continued to thrive and made the best of her stay at Maples. I will never forget your devotion to her Now that she is forever resting in peace beside your father, I hope you can find comfort in knowing that she never forgot how much she was loved by you, and that years and years of wonderful memories are buried in her heart and yours..... living on forever.
With All Our Love,
Pat & Lou

Thank you so much Pat. Her family cherished all those visits with her in Falmouth and Norton. She was indeed a very special lady who was adored by her family and she will surely be missed.

I'll always remember Aunt Helen and Uncle Francis as kind, happy and fun to be with - especially when they came down to visit us at our cottage in Barnstable on Cape Cod each summer. Dick's bar & grill would be open and Uncle Frank would be flipping burgers or helping dad launch the boat. Aunt Helen and mom would sit in their lounge chairs on the beach enjoying each other's company while watching us kids play in the surf. Sometimes we'd go clam digging and get the boat beached but no one cared...we'd wait for the tide to come in (eventually) and all make it home safely. Aunt Helen always showed a genuine interest in me and my brother (Steve) as we grew up. When they moved to Falmouth, we were able to have some nice visits from time to time. It was always a blast to see the Closes, Riordans, and Garveys at the HUGE Cormier reunions! Cheers to a long life, very well lived! Patty & Alice Zinkowski

Awww....thank you so much cousin. In Mom's later years, we had many conversations and trips down memory lane about the Zinkowski cottage in Barnstable. She also cherished the outings there with her beloved sisters; that was always one of the biggest highlights of her summer back in the day. Lots of wonderful memories for the Close and Zinkowski families for sure.
