Obituary for Leona M. Battista

Leona (LeBlanc) Battista, Born September 5, 1937, the only child of Annie and Leonard LeBlanc (deceased), was born and brought up in Vermont.  The family moved to Waltham, MA when she was fifteen years old.  She graduated from Saint Charles High School in 1955 and also received a business Certificate from the Hickox Secretarial School in Boston.

Her first job out of high school was at the Waltham Watch Factory as a secretary to the Vice President of Manufacturing.  In the following years she worked as an Administrative Assistant at various companies and eventually retired at age 73.

She was a parishioner of Saint Charles church and enjoyed serving as an extraordinary Eucharist minister.  She was in a bowling league and bowled two nights a week for many years.  She was also a volunteer at the council on again in Waltham and in the reading program at an elementary school.  She was a big Sox fan.

She leaves behind her former husband (Vincent Battista), daughters, Kim-Marie (Battista) Miller and her husband Bud of South Dartmouth, MA and Monica-Lee Battista of Littleton, Colorado, the Battista family, the Miller family, many friends from Saint Mary Apartments and Hovey House.

She also leaves 4 grandchildren, Cassidy and Michael O’Hagan (Colorado), Colette and Catherine Miller (South Dartmouth), and many relatives in Canada.
