Obituary for Mary Louise Houston

Mary Louise Houston, 83, a resident of Boston, formerly of Waltham, most recently of Dorchester passed away after a long illness on May 10, 2023. Mary was supported by Metro Residential Services and Vinfen’s Brighton Day Habilitation Program.

She was a gentle soul, a grandmother to all she met, never missing the opportunity to put candy or a dollar bill in the pocket of those she loved. Mary was protective of those less fortunate and was a gracious host to visitors to her home.

Predeceased by her sister Daisy Thomas.

Mary leaves to cherish her memory a beloved son, James Houston to whom she was a loving mother and her sister Bertha Thomas both of Boston; her sisters, Jean Thomas and Linda Fraiser; two brothers, Otis Thomas and Howard Thomas. She also left many dear friends and staff that loved her dearly.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to gather and remember the love Mary shared during Visiting hours on Friday, May 19th from 10 am to 11 am. Followed by a celebration of her life beginning at 11 am, in The Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco and Sons Memorial Chapels. Located 773 Moody Street Waltham, MA. Parking Attendants will be available. Burial will follow at Mount Feake Cemetery, located, 203 Prospect Street, Waltham, MA. 02453
