Obituary for Peter V. Nazzaro

Peter V. Nazzaro
Peter V. Nazzaro 76, of Waltham died on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.

Born in Cambridge, Peter was the eldest son of the late Vincent P. and Marie (Carchia) Nazzaro of Belmont. Peter was raised in Belmont and attended Matignon High School. After getting married he moved to Hudson and then Lexington, where he settled to raise his family. Peter was a graduate of Northeastern University with a degree in electrical engineering. Peter spent most of his career working for Honeywell and later for General Electric.

Peter was a man of many interests. In his spare time, he was an avid reader and photographer always behind the camera at family events and gatherings. He was fascinated by technology and embraced it from its very early beginnings. He enjoyed tending to his garden of many plants and flowers, especially his favorite flower, the daylily. He enjoyed the outdoors, either working in the yard or hiking in the mountains of New Hampshire. For the past sixteen years, he resided in Waltham. Peter was a member of the Waltham Arts Council and contributed his time volunteering at the concession stand Tuesday evenings during the summer on Waltham Common.

Peter is survived by his companion of 18 years, Mary Kopsiaftis of Waltham, his children, Sharon (Nazzaro) Ciano & her husband Tom of Winchester, Michael P. Nazzaro and his wife Carla of Reading, Stephen J. Nazzaro and his wife Jackie of Reading, Mary’s children, Kristine Lambert and her husband Scott of Delray Beach, Florida and Kenneth Kopsiaftis and his wife Pamela of Lowell, his twelve cherished grandchildren, Isabella, Natalie, Olivia, Alexandra, Zachary, Julianna, Sophia, Stephen, Ella, Alec, Penelope and Kleio, his siblings John of Tewksbury, Ellen and her husband Harold of Chelmsford, Vincent and his wife Nancy of San Antonio, Texas, Mary and her husband Michael of Keene, NH, and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will honor and remember Peter’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the Brasco and Son Memorial Funeral Home, 773 Moody St., Waltham, on Wednesday, April 12th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, April 13th at the Mary Catherine Chapel, 773 Moody St., Waltham at 9 o’clock.
