Obituary for Gina J. Saia (DiAngelo)
Of Waltham, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning August 27th, 2022 at Pine Knoll Nursing Home in Lexington at the age of 91.
Born on February 26, 1931 in Boston; daughter of the late Benigio and Mary (Spezzano) DiAngelo. Gina was raised in Boston and had lived for many years in Watertown before moving to Waltham over 45 years ago.
Family was always first & foremost in Gina's life; she loved to be surrounded by her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and loved to go dancing.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband James J. "Jimmy" Saia.
Gina is survived by her devoted & loving children; Sandra Wiley and her husband Raymond of Waltham; Charles "Chucky" Saia of Waltham; James J. "Jimmy" Saia Jr of Waltham; and Paul Saia and his wife Patricia of Florida and her cherished grandchildren; Kim, Ray, Tara, Jacqueline and Harley.; and her dear sister Angela White and her husband Joseph of Belmont. In addition, she is survived by 6 adoring great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Those who wish to pay their respects to Gina and her family can do so at the Brasco & Sons Memorial Funeral Home, 773 Moody Street, Waltham on Wednesday, August 31st from 4pm until 8pm. We ask that friends be mindful and respectful of large social gatherings. Family and friends are welcome to gather and celebrate Gina's life and remember the love and friendship she shared with others at a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday morning Sept. 1st at Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Watertown.
