Of Waltham, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Monday evening March 20th, 2017 at Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge at the age of 51.
Born on August 30, 1965 in Boston; loving daughter of John T. Parker of Florida and the late Marilyn Lee (Meisler) Parker, Maureen was raised in Foxboro and Newton where she graduated from Newton North High School with the Class of 1983.
Maureen had been employed as a Sales Agent with Zymark Corporation in Hopkinton for over 20 years before the company was bought out by Caliper Technologies Corporation and relocated.
She loved to travel throughout the country for work, and enjoyed going to the movies and watching television shows. She played in a Women's Softball League in Newton and had a passion for following Boston sports including the Red Sox, Bruins and most especially the New England Patriot's as a season ticket holder.
Maureen is survived by her beloved husband of 23 years Carl E. Westlund, her loving & devoted children Brad Michael Westlund and Amy Marie Westlund both of Waltham, her dear father (Ret.) Newton Police Capt. John T. Parker of Florida and brother Steven Thomas Parker of Newton. In addition she is survived by many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and numerous friends.
Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend Funeral Services in celebration of Maureen’s Life in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Sunday afternoon March 26th at 2:00 p.m. Visiting Hours will be held in the Mary Catherine Chapel prior to the Funeral Service on Sunday from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. Parking attendants on duty. Burial will be held PRIVATE for Maureen's Family at Newton Cemetery at a later date.
Immediately following the Funeral Services on Sunday all are welcome to join the family at the Newton Lodge of Elks B.P.O.E. #1327, 429 Centre St, Newton, MA 02458.
