Obituary for Arlene Elizabeth Quinn (Van Elst )

Of West Newton, passed away peacefully Saturday morning March 1st, 2014 at the Christopher House in Worcester at the age of 93.

Born on February 4, 1921 in Norwood; daughter of the late Okky and Rose (Martin) Van Elst, Arlene was raised in Concord, New Hampshire and has been a resident of West Newton for the past 60 years.

A graduate of Concord High School, Arlene was a devoted and loving homemaker to her family throughout her life. In her spare time she enjoyed crossword puzzles.

Arlene was a proud Veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II.

Beloved wife of the late William L. Quinn.

She is survived by her loving & devoted children William F. Quinn and his wife Jan of Westford, Michael G. Quinn and his wife Stephanie of Franklin, Kathleen R. Bower and her husband Michael of Sudbury, Thomas J. Quinn and his wife Neala of Northbridge and John A. Quinn of West Newton. In addition she is survived by 10 grandchildren and her lifelong dear friend Helen O’Hara.

Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend Visiting Hours in the Brasco & Sons Memorial Chapel, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Thursday evening March 6th from 4 – 8 p.m. Parking attendants on duty. A Private Burial Service will be held at Mount Feake Cemetery in Waltham.
