Obituary for Warren Arthur Meade

Warren A. Meade

Of Waltham, passed away peacefully in his home, Tuesday, June 26, 2019 after a brief illness. He was 91.

Born and raised in Waltham to the late Elmer and Doris (Drew) Meade, he was a lifelong resident of Waltham.

Mr. Meade worked as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service for over 30 years. After retiring from the Post Office, Warren worked as an accountant for the Waltham Elks until retiring at the age of 90.

Warren was a lifetime member of the Waltham Elks and a past “Elk of the Year”. In his spare time Warren was a drummer, he enjoyed Jazz music, he loved to play and watch hockey, and loved to cook. Warren was an avid hunter and in his earlier years spent his Novembers in Bangor, Maine hunting.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years Jean M. (Dumas) Meade, and his daughters Marsha J. Meade of Newburyport, and Carole Anne Meade of West Palm Beach, FL.

He was the brother of the late Lawrence Meade and Priscilla Flot.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service in celebration of Warren’s life at the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons, 773 Moody St., Waltham, Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at 6:30 pm. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 5 – 6:30 pm. Parking attendants will be on duty.
