Obituary for Helen E. Tolan (Kratoville)

Of Waltham, passed away peacefully Monday evening September 3rd, 2018 at the Newton-Wellesley Hospital at the age of 88.

Born on June 18, 1930 in Newton; daughter of the late Emil Kratoville and Mary (Sampson) Kratoville, Helen was raised in Newton and has been a Waltham resident for the past 56 years.

Helen attended Newton schools and had been employed at the Accent Lamp Company and Puritan Dress Factory in Waltham for many years.

Family was the most important aspect of her life, being surrounded by her children and grandchildren especially for family dinners. Helen was an avid bingo player at Our Lady's Church in Waltham.

Beloved wife of the late Robert J. Tolan Sr.

Helen is survived by her loving children Susan J. Barker of Waltham and Robert J. Tolan Jr and his wife Patricia of Waltham, her cherished grandchildren Stacey Surenian, Elizabeth-Anne Barker, Amanda Barker and her loving companion Basil Papachristos, Robert J. Tolan III and his wife Kayli, and Rachel J. Tolan and her husband Daniel Hinkel, and her adoring great grandchildren Emma, Teddy, Benjamin, Basil John, Nellie, River and Weston. In addition she is survived by several nieces & nephews.

She was predeceased by her dear siblings Mae Gallo, Shirley Stanlake and Francis Kratoville.

Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service in celebration of Helen’s Life in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody St, WALTHAM on Friday evening Sept. 7th at 6:30 p.m. Visiting Hours will be held in the Mary Catherine Chapel on Friday Sept. 7th from 3 - 7 p.m. Parking attendants on duty.
