Obituary for Chan Pheng Keoboonthanh

CHAN PHENG KEOBOONTHANH, passed away tragically early Sunday morning July 8th, 2018 in Wrentham after injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident at the age of 68.

Born on April 5, 1950 in Phoukuen Pangsai Village, Laos; son of the late Saenmor and Khamyom Keobounthanh, Chan immigrated to the United States in 1981 and resided in South Boston & Dorchester for many years.

Chan had worked with the BFI Corporation in Quincy and the Boston area before working with BE Peterson as a welder for the past several years.

A social butterfly with a great sense of humor, Chan loved spending time with his family & friends. He enjoyed cooking, dancing and following sports especially basketball & football.

Chan is survived by his beloved wife Somphone Touy of Waltham, his loving children Bounmy Touy of California, Jersouk Touy of Waltham, Khamsouk "Ali" Touy of Providence, RI, and Eve Keobounthanh and her husband Bobby Joannette of Providence, RI, his cherished grandchildren Makhai, Khamani, Thaili, Jeremiah, Mila, Luca and David, and his dear siblings On, Boun and Mour all of Bokeo. In addition he is survived by many nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service in celebration of Chan’s Life in the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Saturday morning July 14th at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mount Feake Cemetery in Waltham. Visiting Hours will be held in the Mary Catherine Chapel on Friday July 13th from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m.
