Obituary for Nicola Gallitano "Nikki" Corrigan

Of Wayland, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday June 26, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 52.

Born on April 6, 1966 in Boston; beloved daughter of George Gallitano and JoAnne (DeMarco) Gallitano, Nikki was raised and lived most of her life in Waltham.

A graduate of Dana Hall School in Wellesley with the Class of 1984, Nikki continued her education at the University of Maine. After battling illness at a young age she was determined to help others and pursued a career in healthcare, graduating from Mount Ida College and working in occupational therapy. She later developed an interest in reflexology and dreamed of opening a wellness center.

She also loved photography and had a great talent for it.

Nikki was always thinking of others and there for anyone who needed her. Her greatest devotion was to her large family and her many friends.

Nikki loved life and lived life to the fullest. She will forever remain in the hearts and minds of those who loved her.

She is survived by her loving husband of 16 years James M. Corrigan, her beloved daughter Sophia C. Corrigan of Wayland, her devoted parents George and JoAnne (DeMarco) Gallitano of Waltham, her dear siblings Paula Gallitano of Boston, George Gallitano and his wife Karen of Laconia, NH, Francis Gallitano and his wife Linda of Franklin, and Peter Gallitano and his wife Kristan of Sherborn, and cherished nieces & nephews; Sara, Francesca, Kaitlyn, Matthew, and the late Daniel Gallitano. In addition she is survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous friends.

Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend Funeral Services in celebration of Nicola's Life from the Brasco & Sons Memorial Funeral Home, 773 Moody St., WALTHAM on Friday morning June 29th at 10:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Wayland. Visiting Hours will be held in the Funeral Home on Thursday June 28th from 4 - 8 p.m. Parking attendants on duty.

In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in Nikki's memory to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Ave, Boston, MA 02215.
