Obituary for Benjamin V. Sarro

Of Newton, passed away peacefully Sunday February 11th, 2018 in Wingate of Weston at the age of 85.

Born on November 9, 1932 in Dedham; Ben was always proud to share his birthdate with anyone & everyone. He resided for many years at the Walter E. Fernald State School in Waltham until his devoted and dear friend David Haley brought him into his home to live with their family. Ben resided in Newton for the past 43 years with the Haley's.

Ben was employed as a Custodian with Harvey Industries in Waltham for many years and was so very proud of his job with the company.

He was to say the least, a passionate and diehard New York Yankee's Fan. He loved following the baseball team and got to enjoy a game at Yankee Stadium. He had a unique taste in art and loved to listen to music, he enjoyed going shopping and walking. Ben would take his daily stroll down Moody Street.

Ben was predeceased by his closest dear friend David Haley in 2000.

He is survived by his friends but whom he considered to be his loving family, Sandra Haley, Sterns Haley, Jayne Haley, Michelle Haley, Catherine Haley, Lisa Bleasdell, Drew Bleasdell, Brendan Bleasdell, Haley Bleasdell, Shaun Bleasdell, Amy Bleasdell and Dennis Levesque.

A Funeral Service in celebration of Benjamin's Life was held in the Brasco & Sons Memorial Funeral Home private for his family. Interment followed at Calvary Cemetery in Waltham.

In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in Ben's memory to the Beth Eden Baptist Church, 84 Maple St, Waltham, MA 02453 or the charity of one's choice.
