Barbara Luzzi Whooley of Wellesley passed away, Sunday, February 4, 2018 at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington at the age of 74.

Born and raised in Belleville, New Jersey to the late Louis and Anne (Godino) Luzzi, Barbara spent some time in Marlborough and Concord, but called Wellesley home for most of her adult life.

Barbara graduated from Belleville High School in 1961. She continued her education while raising her three children; and, received her undergraduate degree from Regis College in Weston.

Barbara worked as a social worker for many years at various hospitals in the area.

Barbara was deeply religious as she attended church every week and in her later years continued to receive communion in her home. Most of all Barbara was family orientated and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Michael Kevin Whooley and her loving children Ralph Casale and his wife Susan of Westford, Linda Frascarella and her husband Anthony of Clarksville, MD, and Joseph Casale and his wife Lisa of Framingham, her brothers Joseph Luzzi of Belleville, NJ and Louis Luzzi of Frederick, MD, her sister Laura Luzzi of San Francisco, CA, and her cherished grandchildren Clara, Gerald, Louis, Nicholas, Joseph, Luke, Anthony, Lauren, and Thomas.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Service in celebration of Barbara's life at the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons, 773 Moody St., Waltham, Saturday at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 10 - 11 a.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
