Vera Ruby (Houston) Bedrosian
Of Peabody formerly of Waltham, passed away Monday, January 8, 2018 at the Continuing Care Unite of Brooksby Village in Peabody. She was 82.
Born in Lashburn, Saskatchewan, Canada to the late Jack and Vera L. (Jeffers) Houston, she moved to Waltham as a young girl and was adopted by her late aunt and uncle Doris and Earl Doliber. While growing up in Waltham she was know as Vera Doliber until changing her name back to her birth name as a young woman.
Mrs. Bedrosian enjoyed traveling She visited places such as Alaska, Bermuda, the Canadian Rockies, Haiti, and Mexico. She did missionary work in Haiti and Mexico. In her spare time she enjoyed knitting, baking, gardening with her husband, and was an avid reader.
She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years Hagop A. Bedrosian, her devoted children James Bedrosian and his wife Wendy (Ames) of Maynard, David Bedrosian of Acton, Linda Hurton and her husband Thomas of Wakefield, and Robert Bedrosian and his wife Mary (Chandler) of Wakefield , her brother William Houston of Alberta, Canada, and her cherished grandchildren Melissa, Michelle, and Megan Hurton, all of Wakefield, Colleen Bedrosian-Spinney of Ayer, Stephen Bedrosian and Anthony Bedrosian both of Watertown, and Alexander and Adam Bedrosian both of Wakefield.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend A Funeral Service in celebration of Vera's life at the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons, 773 Moody St., Waltham, Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Mount Feake Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 9 to 11 a.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
