Obituary for Rita Mary Judge (Horne)

Of Danvers, formerly of Quincy and Nashua, passed away peacefully, Saturday morning, December 16, 2017 at the Putnam Farm Assisted Living. She was 95.

Born in Enfield, Nova Scotia, Canada, to the late Christopher M. and Alice (Muldoon) Horne, she moved with her family to Arlington as a young girl. She raised her own family in Quincy.

Rita attended Nursing School and was a Cadet Nurse during World War II. One of the biggest highlights of her life was being in Times Square as a Cadet Nurse on V-J day.

In her spare time, Rita enjoyed gardening and reading.

She was the beloved wife of the late John J. Judge.

She is survived by her loving children Christine Roman and her husband Edward of Topsfield, Jennifer McCarty of East Dennis, and Martin Judge of South Weymouth, her brother Arthur Horne of Burlington, and her sisters Celine Casey, and Mary LaRose, both of Arlington. She is also survived by 5 cherished grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Funeral Mass in celebration of Rita's life at Saint Eulalia's Church, 50 Ridge St., Winchester, Friday, December 29, 2017 at 10 a.m. Interment will be held privately.

The family thanks the caring staff at Putnam Farm Assisted Living for providing a loving home for nearly six years.
