Obituary for Jason Roger Nocera

Of Waltham, passed away Thursday December 7th, 2017 in the Newton - Wellesley Hospital at the age of 48.

Jason Roger Nocera, beloved son of Louis J. Nocera and the late Elizabeth (Betty) Nocera, stepson of Anne Marie Nocera, of Waltham and Highland Beach, Fl. Devoted father of Jacob Kinsman of North Chelmsford, youngest brother of Joseph L. and Jeanne Nocera of Waltham. James and Lynda Nocera of Weston, John and Susan Nocera of Bedford, Jeffrey and Susan of Westwood, Linda Jacobs Nocera of Waltham, Jerome and Chrisann Taras Nocera of Waltham. Cherished uncle of fourteen nieces and nephews- Derek, Brian, Devon, Corey, Nicole, Kyle, Nicklas, Julina, Sean, Michelle, Leah and Amanda Nocera, and Victoria and Justina Jacobs. Dearest nephew of Mrs. Phyllis Cormier and her late husband Paul Cormier. Nephew of Mrs. Marianne Skerry and her late husband, C. Scott Skerry. Jason shared a close lifelong bond with Ms. Julia Middlebrook. Jason leaves cousins and many close friends. He was the devoted & loving companion for more than 20 years to the late Carrie Murphy.

Jason Nocera lived in Waltham, Massachusetts and was a Waltham High School graduate. He studied music at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Mr. Nocera was employed at the Chateau Restaurant in Waltham, a business established by his grandfather, Joseph Nocera in 1933. Jason loved music and was a founding member of the band Throat Culture. He was full of energy and enthusiasm for life. He was a devoted father, son, and grandson, a fun-loving brother, and a loyal friend. He brought passion to everything he did. He will truly be missed.

Relatives & Friends are respectfully invited to attend Funeral Services in celebration of Jason's Life from the Brasco & Sons Memorial Funeral Home, 773 Moody Street, WALTHAM on Thursday morning Dec. 14th at 9:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Mary's Church, 145 School Street, Waltham at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mount Feake Cemetery in Waltham. Visiting Hours will be held in the Funeral Home on Wednesday Dec. 13th from 4 - 8 p.m. Parking attendants on duty.
