Robert Fisher, Waltham Police Detective (Ret.)

Of Waltham, passed away Wednesday afternoon, March 21, 2018 at the Wingate of Weston Nursing Home. He was 81.

Born and raised in Watertown to the late Gertrude (Fisher) McLean, he was a graduate of Watertown High School and earned his Associates Degree from Massachusetts Bay Community College. Robert moved to Waltham with his beloved wife the late Ruth (Gullotti) over sixty years ago and has been a resident ever since.

Mr. Fisher served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Robert served Waltham as a Police Officer for twenty-five years; most of his time as a Detective. After his retirement, Robert held several jobs including working at the Swedish Home in Newton and with his son at Jeff Fisher Windows.

He was the loving father of the late Robert Fisher, Jr. and grandfather of the late Lee Robert Fisher.

He is survived by his loving children Lisa Taylor and her husband Tom of Waltham, Sandra Thompson and her husband Jeffrey of Waltham, and Jeffrey Fisher and his wife Carolyn (Mula) of Westwood, his daughter-in-law Joanne Holehouse of Maryland, his cherished grandchildren Audra Snow of Waltham, Jeffrey Thompson, Jr. of Norwood, Jillian King of Texas, Thomas, Matthew, and Brooke Taylor of Waltham, Kevin Pike of Newburyport, Jordan and Katie Fisher both of Waltham, Roberta McGuiney of Pennsylvania, and Kyle Holehouse of Colorado, his sister Mary Nauman Willems of New York, and his brother Donald McLean of Ashland. He is also survived by his great grandchildren Riley, Kyla, and Avery and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours at the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons, 773 Moody St., Waltham, Sunday afternoon, March 25, 2018 from 2-5 p.m. Visiting hours will conclude with a Prayer Service in celebration of Robert's life. Interment will be private.

Expressions of sympathy may be made in Robert's memory to Seasons Hospice, 1 Edgewater Dr., Norwood, MA 02062.
