Fernando Breau

Of Waltham passed away on November 30, 2017 at his home. He was 92.

Born and raised in Cocagne, New Brunswick to the late Ameedee and Claira (Cormier) Breau, he moved to Waltham when he was just 18, where he has been a resident ever since.

Shortly after coming to the United States, Fernando joined the United States Army and served honorably in the Korean War.

When Fernando returned from the war he began his work as a carpenter and builder. He was self employed and became quite skilled at his craft. He built the home that he lived in by hand.

In his spare time Mr. Breau enjoyed going to the French American Victory Club, dancing, playing cards, and vacationing in Canada.

He is survived by his loving wife Roberta (Landry) Gautreau of Waltham, his step-son Peter Gautreau of Waltham, his sister Jemma LeLievre of Littleton, and his sisters-in-law Elmire LeBlanc, Josey Murphy, and Anita DesRocher. He was also survived by many nieces and nephews.

He was the husband of his late first wife Alberta (Savoie), brother of the late Raoul, Archille, Ulysse, Aurea, Yollande, and Ronald Breau.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend funeral services from the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773 Moody St., WALTHAM, Saturday, December 2, at 10 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Fernando's life at Sacred Heart Church, 311 River St., Waltham at 11 a.m. Interment will be at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at a later date. Visiting hours will be held Friday from 3-7 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
