Madeline Attardo Randolph

Of Waltham, passed away on Thanksgiving evening, November 23, 2017, surrounded by her loving family living a long and full life.

Known to her siblings and friends as Lee or Lena and to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as Nanny M., and Nanny Madeline.

Beloved daughter of Italian immigrants,the late Salvatore Attardo and Josephine Terrasi Attardo, she was the fifth of six children. She is survived by her loving brother Lou Attardo and his wife Bea. Her dear sister-in-law, Anna Attardo, also survives her. She was predeceased by her loving brothers, Frank, Joe, Tony, and her dearest sister Rose Olivo.

She married the love of her life, Leroy Randolph, and they enjoyed 44 wonderful years of marriage together until he passed in 1998.

Madeline and Lee had four children, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She is survived by her eldest daughter, Donna McIntosh and her son-in-law, Wayne McIntosh. Donna and Wayne have two sons, Scot and Jaymeson. She is survived by her second daughter, Linda Vanaria and son-in-law, James Vanaria. Linda and James have two children, Jamie Lynn, and Elizabeth and her husband Christopher Briody, who have two children, Poppy and Harrison. She is survived by her son Leroy and daughter-in-law Genevieve Randolph. She is also survived by Genevieve’s two children, Bryan and Cadyee. She is survived by her youngest child, James Randolph who has lovingly cared for her for many years. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Madeline was a lifelong resident of Waltham, Massachusetts. Madeline and Lee also shared a sweet cottage in Harrison, ME. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, daughter, and loyal friend. Madeline took great pleasure in creating favorite holiday dishes for her family, including her amazing Eggplant Parmesan, stuffed shells, ricotta pie, and competing with her siblings for the best “Easter Thanu”.

In her younger days, Madeline worked at the Tribunal for the Archdiocese of Boston. She also worked at GAB until her retirement in 1998. She loved spending time with family, friends, and neighbors. She was extremely generous, creating beautiful pinecone wreaths and baking for friends and neighbors.

Madeline and Lee shared the same birthday of October 18, 1928. This year she turned 89, and enjoyed a wonderful birthday celebration with her family and friends at Lexington Health Care Center where she received loving care and support from the staff. We will all miss her fun sense of humor, warm heart, and happy smile.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend funeral service from the Brasco & Sons Memorial, 773, Moody St., Waltham Tuesday, November, 28, 2017at 9 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial in celebration of Madeline’s life at the Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mount Feake Cemetery in Waltham. Visiting hours will be held Monday from 4 – 8 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
